Summary of position: 
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a dynamic and strategic individual to shape and grow ZwickRoell’s business across the UK, Ireland, and Iceland. Here are the key highlights and responsibilities of the Sales Manager role:

Role Overview:
The Sales Manager will lead and develop a team of 10 experienced sales and technical professionals, implementing strategies to:
  • Drive lead generation and customer acquisition.
  • Qualify and close business opportunities.
  • Execute strategic growth plans to achieve sustainable business expansion in the region.
The position calls for a blend of strategic vision, sales expertise, and the ability to inspire a high-performing team while maintaining close alignment with ZwickRoell's values and intercultural environment.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing sales and technical team.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Sales & Marketing Strategy:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with global priorities.
  • Expand business by engaging current customers and attracting new ones.
Customer Engagement:
  • Partner with sales teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Promote cutting-edge ZwickRoell innovations across industries.
Collaboration & Reporting:
  • Work closely with UK and global leadership teams.
  • Report performance insights and contribute to strategic decisions.
Hybrid Working & Travel:
  • Based at Worcester's Xperience Centre, with regional and international travel.
  • Support team efforts through customer visits and events.
Career Development:

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Achieve annual sales targets and drive market share growth.
  • Analyze data, propose strategies, and manage business plans.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Use CRM and BI tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Monitor competitors, evaluate market trends, and identify opportunities.
  • Guide sales partners on growth strategies and improvements.
  • Plan training to enhance team capabilities and customer consultation.
  • Collaborate across departments to achieve shared goals.

Profile - key selection criteria:

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline with a post-graduate qualification in sales/marketing/international business.
  • MBA’s desirable but not crucial 
Experience
  • Experience in sales & business development through different sales channels in the field of premium capital equipment preferably related to materials science.  
  • Ideally you will be in a sales Management position, or looking for the next development position.
Requirements
  • Valid permit / visa to work in the UK – Pending Applications will not be progressed 
  • Strong orientation towards customers & communication.  
  • Leading by example with proven international, intercultural, emotional & social competence. 
  • Able to apply and further grow agile work approaches in a high-performance environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence of stakeholders.
  • Successful track-record to managing change management projects. 
  • Sets the right priorities, communicates pro-active, sustainably & solution oriented.
  • Strong presentation skills utilising state-of-the art digital tools & technologies.
  • Experience in a leading CRM system is preferred, especially Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
  • Must be fluent in English, German language is desirable.
Following extensive product training in the UK and Germany the successful candidate will be responsible for sales of all ZwickRoell Group testing products and be accountable for the success of all sales opportunities.
